Beginning Contour Drawings

 

I thought that these beginning lessons were great.

 I loved drawing without picking up my pen.

It was challenging, but fun.

Adding water color to the drawings in pen

 gave the sketches

 life.

My teacher said to take risks,

 so I decided to paint the bottom shoe

 in purple and yellow

- opposites -

 and draw the shoes from difficult angles.

My personal favorite

 is the middle shoe

because it was my first shoe contour

 drawing.

This picture was a few firsts for me;

I have never drawn a face before, let alone my own.

I found this challenging,

and I faced many struggles

with the piece

throught the stages in the process.

Personally, I like the way I did my hair

by erasing the charcoal.
